How VisitAssist handles location and selfie data

VisitAssist captures location at visit actions, not all day. GPS is recorded when a field agent checks in, checks out or performs GPS verification, and the camera is used only when they take a photo. This page explains it in plain language; the privacy policy is the formal version.

What VisitAssist does not do

  • It does not track users outside approved business activity performed within the app.
  • It does not access the camera without a user action.
  • It does not sell or share organisational data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Who can see the data

Visit data is visible to users in the same organisation according to their role — Company Admins, managers such as Claims Managers, and the field agent for their own work. Every organisation's data is isolated from other organisations, and access by VisitAssist staff is limited to providing and supporting the service, on a need-to-know basis.

How it is protected

VisitAssist uses secure authentication, role-based access controls, encrypted data transmission and audit logging. Customer data remains the property of the customer organisation.

Advice for employers

Tell your team what is recorded and why before you roll out any tracking tool. With VisitAssist the message is simple: your location is recorded when you check in and out of a visit, and the selfie proves you were there — nothing in between. Frequently asked questions

Does VisitAssist track employees continuously?

No. VisitAssist collects GPS location only when a user performs a visit-related action such as check-in, check-out or GPS verification. It does not track users outside approved business activity performed within the app.

When does VisitAssist use the phone camera?

Only when the user takes an action that needs a photo — the check-in selfie, visit proof, or a receipt photo for a claim. VisitAssist does not access the camera without user action.

Who can see an employee's visit data?

Users inside the employee's own organisation, according to their role — for example Company Admins and managers. Each organisation's data is isolated from every other organisation.

Does VisitAssist sell or share data?

No. Organisational data remains the property of the customer and is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
