GPS check-in and selfie verification for field visits

A VisitAssist check-in records where, when and who — in one tap. Field agents check in at the customer from the mobile app; the app captures GPS coordinates, the time and a live selfie watermarked with the details. That record becomes their attendance and the proof of the visit.

The problem it solves

Field staff don't come to an office, so office attendance systems don't work for them. A WhatsApp “reached” message proves nothing, and calling every agent to confirm wastes the manager's morning. Attendance and the actual customer visit end up recorded in different places — or not at all.

How a check-in works

  1. 1

    Arrive at the customer

The agent opens the VisitAssist mobile app and picks the scheduled visit (or the client).

  2. 2

    Take the selfie

A live selfie is captured and watermarked with organisation name, agent, time and location.

  3. 3

    GPS is recorded

Coordinates and timestamp are saved with the check-in. Drift and spoof checks run on the location.

  4. 4

    Check out

At the end of the visit the agent checks out and adds closing remarks. Visit duration follows from the two times.

What managers see

  • Each check-in and check-out on the dashboard as it happens.
  • The watermarked selfie attached to the visit record.
  • Visit counts per agent, computed automatically from check-ins.
  • A mismatch distance in CSV reports, alongside closing remarks.
  • A full activity log — useful when a customer or auditor asks who visited and when.

Who uses it

Sales representatives visiting dealers and retailers, merchandisers covering outlets, service engineers on installation or repair calls, and collection agents. If your team's work happens at customer locations, the check-in is the record of that work.

Privacy by design

Location is captured only at visit actions — check-in, check-out or GPS verification — and the camera only when the agent takes the photo. VisitAssist does not track employees outside approved business activity in the app. Details are on the location data & privacy page.

Frequently asked questions

What is a GPS check-in?

A GPS check-in records a field employee's location and the time at the moment they arrive at a customer or site. In VisitAssist it also captures a selfie, so the record shows who checked in, where and when.

What is selfie-based visit verification?

Selfie verification means the field agent takes a live photo during check-in. VisitAssist watermarks it with the organisation name, agent, time and location, so the photo itself carries the proof of the visit.

How does GPS attendance work for field staff?

Instead of punching in at an office, field staff check in from the mobile app at the place where the work happens. Check-in and check-out times are recorded automatically and become the attendance record for that visit or day.

What is the difference between GPS check-in and continuous GPS tracking?

A GPS check-in captures location only at visit actions such as check-in and check-out. Continuous tracking records location throughout the day. VisitAssist uses check-ins, which verifies visits while collecting far less location data.

What if the agent checks in from the wrong place?

Reports include a mismatch distance for each visit, so a check-in made far from the expected client location is easy to spot. VisitAssist also has GPS drift and spoof detection on check-ins.
